hi there one and all, just a short note regarding last night at dinnington.you would have thought that on a cold january night after christmas and not even the end of the month for pay day (those who get it once a month) that the writing on the wall was going to be for a poor turn out.but no the soul faithfull dug deep and turned up to make quite a good crowd, plenty of good tunes and plenty of dancing, and people were still at the bar at 12.30pm so it was deffo a good night. thanks ash and the crew for keeping it alive

Went there last night and had a good time, to be fair the music was safe and was almost across the board with the exception of no `modern ' as in up to the minute sounds, which incidently didn't appear to be missed. The dancefloor was busy all night. The two guys from Loughton did a great spot imo. The place has a nice friendly atmosphere, it was worth the drive. Just one blip if I may say, the lighting wasn't quite right for me as I felt as if I was dancing under spotlights with an audience watching, It didn't stop me dancing, just felt a bit exposed is all. Anyway thanks for a good night out. Jo.

Hiya Jan Why didn't we meet/speak? Mind you I spent most of the night in the loos Sorry about the lighting, had to leave that side on cos the lads forgot the down spots for the decks - sure it didn't spoil it for you tho? Did you catch Andy Jones set early doors and closing the night? Played a good smoergasboard of soul - here's a few choons he played Kenny Gamble - The Jokes On You N Group - Keep On Runnin' Tempts - Ordinary Girl Sebastion Stone - That's What She Said Fab Apollos - Some Good In Everything Bad Fanatics - Dancing To The Shotgun Billy Hambric - She Said Goodbye Major Lance - You're Everything I Need Magnificent 7 - Stubborn Kind Of Fellow Ethics - There'll Still Be A Sweet Tomorrow Variations - A Shot Of Love Volcanos - Warning Ollie Jackson - Just A Little While Uniques - Not Too Long Ago Trips - There's That Mountain Feathers - Trying To Get To You HankJacobs - Elijah Rocking With Soul Johnny Joy - You Get Your Kicks Lee Dorsey - Vista Vista Majority from memory there were others - decent offering for all? Next one 11th April Good to see my resident Keith Davis make an appearance a week after quad heart bypass - lovely gesture on arrival too. We also donated £65 to Soul for Heroes so all in all a decent night - cheers for attending and the write up ;D

Sat 30th May was our last Soul Galore for 3 months summer break and it went with a bang - well a murmer and puff of smoke as the amp packed in for 15 minutes - sulking little sod ;D Note fellow promoters/DJs/Roadies:- don't matter how late you are setting up don't run the amp whilst still in its protective case they tend to overheat Notwithstanding that the night was a good 'un with plenty of action on the dancefloor to sounds provided by 4 enthusiastic DJs who managed to cover the full spectrum of across the board from Spencer Davis to Anthony Wright - and all stops in between. Cheers guys - see you in Sept

Lyric, Dinnington 26th Sept Back at the wonderful venue The Lyric Theatre Numbers down but expected so after 3 month break and clashes with Skeggy Weekend, Stairs @ Barnsley & Corner Pocket @ Mexbro However quality prevailed and those in attendance were treated to an eclectic mix of soul thru the decades spun by those trusty steeds Keith Davis Andy Jones & Keith Toyne. Playlists? You gotta be there to appreciate or ask those who did turn out talking of which......... Sheffield Huddersfield Brierley & Newark people in attendance, thanx for valued support with promoters/DJs from Sheffield Red House & Horti Club, Robin Hood Brierley and 1812 Reunion. All in all a good return from our summer sojourn and hope to see more of you 31st October - it'll be good with 3 residents PLUS The Victory Boys (Roger & Charlie) The Lyric Dinnington, friendly you bet - a no fuss, no bull and certainly no egos venue. Thanx for looking

Sat 31st Halloween The Lyric Dinnington What cracker! Over 100 in, 5 DJs and plenty of spooky fancy dress as well including yours truely ;D Not bad to say there were 3 other venues same nite within 12 mile radius Thanx to all for making a gr8 nite, folk from Newark Chesterfield Barnsley & Sheffield with a plethora of promoters from other venues. All welcomed and catered for with a playlist that covered all points from mid 6Ts to 2009 - dancefloor reflected across the board with oldies & modern up and at 'em so to speak. Down side - bar staff DIDN'T announce last orders and I had to walk the floor apologizing again sorry 'bout that BUT I don't think it spoilt the night as most were full of liquid or leaking it out on the dancefloor. Lyric, tasty soulful and friendly - hope y'all enjoyed the FREE CD? Advance attendees for 2nd Jan noted folks cheers and THAT should be rammed to the rafters - get in early folks with advance requests otherwise you'll be disappointed. Special Guest DJs for the anniversary event will be Sean Hamsay & Kev Briscoe - wow too good to miss
