I never thought I could get so wound up by a T.V. so-called talent competition. How on earth are those two irritating tw*ts John & Edward still in it? I can't understand their boundless self - confidence when they are so embarassingly bad. Or is it just me? ;D

No, its not just you Manc.
Simon Cowell is just a wimp and has no backbone.
Last night was a bloody shambles and a disgrace. It's supposed to be a talent show, so what talent has pr*ck and d*ck got? NONE!
Got a bad case of can'tbearstness now.

Cowell is the Tw*t he is keeping them in to boost the ratings. He pretends to fall out with that sad puppet Louis Walsh just to ramp up the ratings too. The annoying thing is they are all getting rich out of it and the mug public are just being taken for a ride.

What made me laugh was that 'dedwood' didn't sing on the opening song - bohemian rhapsody nor have they let them sing on the record they are releasing for charity. Who the f*ck is voting for them?

Please could someone explain to me the reason people watch this programme, or the jungle, etc? The only way to get this celebrity garbage off of the screen is NOT to watch it. Sorry, forgot this was the 'lite' section.

Surprisingly I had better things to do on Saturday night too, went to see The Jersey Boys in the West End. I don't find that surprising at all Nick. I'm sure you enjoyed it. Saw it earlier in the year with Tats and thought it was great. I've always respected the Four Seasons and I wasn't even too critical over its chronological inaccuracies, just accepting it for what it is; an entertaining show.

I saw Jersey Boys twice....fantastic show. Always had a soft spot for Frankie Valli as "You're gonna hurt yourself" was a big 'early' record for me. "You're ready now" was THE record when I first went to the Twisted Wheel. I always wondered how these solo 45s came about, and seeing the show, and a bit of 'googling' , now understand that this was in a period between the old & new group, and an effort to promote him as a solo. Re X factor......never seen it. Nor Strictly, nor Big Brother, or Jungle...any of them. As jimmy Ruffin said "I'm living in a world I created for myself" ;D

Hi Larry. good to hear from you. I'd agree with you about 'Hurt Yourself' and 'You're Ready Now', both of which I bought when they came out in '65/'66. I went through a puzzling period in the late sixties where I culled my collection of anything'white', so they both went!!! Lived to regret it, and have naturally restored them to my collection along with almost everything else by the Four Seasons. I had no idea how many great 'white' and soulful recordings there are. To hear either of the above mentioned tracks in what was originally a broadway show was really, in Tammi Terrells words, 'Just Too much To Hope For'. P.S. You're not alone in Jimmy Ruffin's world.

40 odd shows to choose from and only one appealed. Mandi would have preferred Dirty Dancing I know but even a million brownie points were not enough to tempt me in there. Got to say I love London even the underground is an adventure, the crowds late at night, a good Chinese meal we miraculously picked amongst the 100 bad restaurants, the pub just down the road from the theatre 'Comptons' where no ladies were present looked like a bucket of leather vested eels writhing around at midnight (didn't go in I might add)

Always was a big Four Seasons/Frankie Valli fan & I've heard really good things about the Jersey boys. Not much chance of getting to London at the moment. Anyone know if it's likely to come to Manchester or Liverpool?

Manc99
I doubt whether it will tour for a while yet.........I see the newspaper ads are indicating SUNDAY shows in the west end.....that's very rare.
It really is worth a trip to London if you can.....perhaps you can build it into a week-end trip when United get to a cup final?
