Nice cross section sevangalore, welcome to the forum. I know I'm a bit late for your 'Invictus' week soulmanash but am very partial to a dose of it myself. Could be the names involved? Once upon a time I'm convinced I heard an extended version of 'I'm So Glad' by Brian Holland in that when he reached the 'La-lala-la lala-la la la bit- you know what I mean- it went on for ages, and it really does generate excitement at that point. I've tried everything to find it 7", 12", Lp, cd but all without success. I've practically concluded I was imagining it. Any suggestions? Here's a couple more to help your Invictus session continue. 'Let me Down Easy' Chairmen Of The Board 'Trapped In A Love' Barrino Brothers 'Slipping Away' Holland-Dozier 'Two Wrongs Don't Make A Right' Freda Payne 'The Silent Boatman' Parliament - wild or what? Bagpipes on a soul recording!!!

Laff at the Parliament track - your right about the bagpipes(or electronic variation) maybe thats why it was massive in the midland valley in Scotland ;D The Brian Holland track, gr8 choon really gr8 choon, I've got it on Invictus Soul Box set (disc 2) and its listed as "Part 1". Haven't any other info on it but I haven't done any digging either Gotta say though that it is 4 minutes of sheer class IMHO

Currently getting some hammer on my mp3 player are in no particular order of preference (I think they are all great) My Love is so strong - Joseph Webster ( hadnt heard this for what seems like years and then someone played it at Skeggy recently and I cant get it out of my system now) She's Gone - Hamilton Movement (Ditto for this but it's always been a huge favourite of mine) Naughty Girl - Cool Million (Newish, European and excellent) Memory - James King (Awesome, would love to hear this played out more, or at all!!!!!) I guess God wants it this way - Freddie Scott ( I heard this on Shaun Robbins Sunday Soul Selection over Christmas and it just blew me away, If anyone has this and could let me have another listen I would be grateful) cheers Midge

Often with me it's not single tracks, it's the cumulative impact of a series. I listen to a few podcasts: Glyn Williams’ Soultime Promotions, Stepfather of Soul, WFMU Downtown Soulville, and a couple on Podomatic: Northern Soul by Seb from Gignac, and Paul Royle’s Northern Soul: A Way of Life.
These are from the start of one of Paul’s podcasts.:
Kurt Harris Emperor of My Baby’s Heart Barbara McNair Baby a Go Go Carrol & Jerri How Can I ever Find a Way
Then a bit later
The Originals Suspicion Julian Covay A Little Bit Hurt
All on the music pages, except Carrol & Jerri (shame). (lined up for next page) - Guess that was you, Nick: nice one, look forward to hearing it
