Anyone recognise these lyrics from a 70s dancer, a male singer: "The lady in red has come to your window, she'll lie in your bed with somebody new" Secondly anyone know the Johnnie Taylor song sampled by the Shapeshifters on Lolas Theme? Any help would be appreciated

Lola's Theme was the first hit for UK / Sweden house act Shapeshifters. The song sample's Johnnie Taylor's 1982 R&B hit, "What About My Love." It went straight into the British charts at number 1 in July 2004. The duo went on to have a further two Top 20 UK hits. The song also topped the American Dance charts.
Half way there.

Beat me to it Brian - thought you'd be listening to the gooners. Alright it looks too easy. The Johnnie Taylor track is on Beverley Glen a label shared with a certain Mr. Womack. Some interesting stories there!!! Be nice to think that Patrick Moten received the royalties he deserved from what was a frightening theft. Fortunately, the deceased Mr. Taylor was spared the robbery. A wonderful mid tempo recording.

Oh, I forgot the other question. 'The Lady In Red' Ronnie Dyson on Columbia 1975.

I was - on my new DAB radio. My only present. My wife and I said "no presents this year". Then on Christmas morning she gave me the radio. And then she waited, and waited, and waited. Later I saw her studying the tree cos last year I put an emerald ring on a teddy bear's arm. But to no avail - I always keep to my side of a bargain.

Just to correct something I wrote yesterday salsoul2. Patrick Moten certainly did not receive royalties from the 'What About My Love ' theft. Sadly he died over seven years ago at the early age of 42. Fortunately he has left us with a legacy of soul perfection - both Bobby Womacks 'Poet' albums, Anita Baker's 'Songstress' album along with the Johnnie Taylor and Rosie Gaines gems.

The second one is pretty easy. It's either Lou Courtney on Philips or Howard Guyton on Verve. Hope that helps.

How do you create a new post on this site? I am trying to find a song title to some lyrics which we think are : " I can do a thousand times better than any man out there, so let it be me" We have tried all sorts of title variations out of these lines so any help would be fantastic.
Thanks

What like the Bill or Eastender or something ;D ;D looks about as interesting too. Did consider Deleting it but might get accused of stifling ethnicity I then realised it was a Chinese music site that infects your computer and you can't shift it. SO IT'S GONE Different groups of Characters are the shortcut to send you into the site. Sorry for anyone who wonders what the hell Rick and me are on about, basically it was a new post with just a block, roughly 60 x 60 of symbols ie % ;@!"^* and if you click on groups of them it redirects you to a chinese music site, which could be very innocent (Chinese Northern Soul) but if it is why hide it!!!!!and I have had one of these before, once its in, it keeps sending popups. Eat at Gingdongs etc
