anyone know a speedy female vocal with "you dont own me" being the main chorus line? that's all i can remember about this song other than it's great to dance to.

Lesley Gore had a 60s US hit with a track of that title, but that's a slowish track, so I doubt it's the one you mean, but who knows? I can e-mail an mp3 for you to check.

On its way via e-mail. Lesley Gore was the most successful "girlsound" artist of the 60s with many US Top 20 hits to her name such as "It's my party", "Judy's turn to cry" and "Maybe I know". Not yer obvious Northern material, but I must admit I have been bemused (but pleased) to hear other girlsound singers such as Joannie Summers played on the Northern circuit!

Welcome soulman1949 - a great year!!! I like yourself had thought about the Lesley Gore song, but dismissed it because you could hardly call it a 'speedy vocal'. Incidentally there is a good version of that song by Keanya Collins, which certainly is soulful but remains a ballad.
