Hey i am hoping someone can help me with this song, we think it was a northern soul style but not sure. There is a lyric that is something like.:"I can do a thousand times better than any man out there.. so let it be me" We know it's not the Everley Brothers song, any help please.

think the toon you mean might be mel williams "can it be me" modern1023. was played at the back end of the torch & then hit the big time at wigan. the line you quote is very similer to "theres a thousand fish in the sea i wonder, can it be me". uptempo rn'b type of tune. expect 2 pay between £20 & £30. hope this helps.

Thanks everyone turns out the song is by John Whitehead- Let it be me. Anyone got ideas on where it can be downloaded? or a song 'got my mind messed up' by Quiet Elegance Thanks again

Can't help with the download. I do have the track it's from John Whitehead's album 'I Need Money Bad' which was produced and arranged by his partner in crime Gene McFadden in 1988. As for Quiet Elegance - what a track, better in opinion than James Carr. Nice taste here groovyblue. Welcome to the site.
