Nice one, Bill. Beyond my comprehension this one. The moment I see those words - phone this number - I react like Hermann Goering did when he heard the word CULTURE - I reach for my pistol!!! RU Sure???

Hi all Yeah... must admit it does look like an advert but it does work. Maybe someone else on the forum has used it - if so, please help out with this one!! - If not one of you try it and feedback I understand if you are doubtful but i only stuck this post on after seeing other peoples posts saying "heard a tune the other night - it goes etc etc" I don't know how it works, they'll be putting men on the moon next!!

I'm sure it's wholly possible - like a DNA match. But obviously they have to have the track to start with so they can match wave patterns.
Chris - you'll be buggered with an intro or instr. break quiz at Prestatyn won't you. Team 1 10/10; Team 2 10/10 etc.
Have to say my daughter called me from a quiz once. Turned out I knew it. The tune was 'Rose of Cimarron' by Poco. Not quite soul though.

:)Best give me your mobile number Brian just in case if you can remember stuff like 'Rose of Cimarron' by Poco I need you on my team, although to be honest it's stuff like that I remember i.e. who was the drummer in the Dave Clark Five?, Who sang son of my father? etc etc but I can't get anything after 1995 (think its because of the kids)

Come on Steve - the drummer in the Dave Clark Five is the same as what river flows over the Niagara Falls. But it will catch one or two. I'm the same about contemporary stuff - particularly all of these beautiful film stars we're meant to drool over as dirty old men. I'm constantly asking my wife "who's she ?". So I suppose I'm still a dirty old man - just a little late.
Read about your latest injury. You really are unlucky aren't you. Trust me; as you get older you have to do it in your head - not on the ground.
England 20/20 v Oz just started + Women v Germany in China World Cup + England v SA later on.
Such a busy day.

how do you suck eggs anyway I assume this is to do with the old art of collecting birds eggs when they used to blow out the content through a small hole. Anyone know different ?

You're getting into new areas here mixing your verbs. Or perhaps not.
I'm saying more.
But Nick - I'm really confused. I just came onto the site. The "Main Menu" General Board entry told me that you had made a contribution to this topic (on the rhs). So I clicked on the subject there and it jumped me to the topic. Scanned to the bottom but there was no contribution from you......... until I used the IE refresh button and then there was. Perhaps I'm blocking something inadvertently.
Anyhow it is true about the bird's egg thing and it works fine as long as there's just yolk and albumen......

I only ever click on latest 35 posts to keep track of everything and never noticed that, I also use Firefox for the forum and IE for my general browsing, I am not sure why but tried it out once and never changed it back. I will see if I spot it happening. God forbid anyone should actually suck the things.

All I can say is "Sorry". I have no connection to xxxxxx and would in no way benefit from people using their services. I was only trying to help and it certainly wasn't a sales pitch. I never have and never will claim to be an expert on Northern - I know what I like but must admit, have little idea who sung it. (And buggered if I'm gonna pay 50p each time to find out (LOL) First got into Northern about 1990 when I was lent a tape - The Night by Frankie Valli was the one that got me into it. Used to frequent the 100 club when I lived in London but have now moved to the south coast and since the arrival of my son, my going out nights are 'on hold' for a while. I've still got my 2 Lammies so I get my 'Northern Fix' when I attend the rallies but that seems to be it these days.
Hope we can all be friends... Nik

Nik Always friends on here matey, that is what forums are for, we need controversy but still come out of it smiling. No I think we all thought how the heck could anyone at the end of a phone with no knowledge of the music know a few bars from a totally obscure record that may even be a cover up by the DJ. Maybe they will analyze digitized tracks with fancy software but someone has to program the software and they are even more removed from the music. The text revolution is a well marketed tool to relieve you of more money, why the heck do people have to reply to a reply that was a reply in the first place and it costs them 12p each time, sorry forgot you get 500 free texts a month, but hang on is the price of the package not more expensive to allow the freebies. Now moving on the the subject of answerphones...................
