Big end of the night ballad, from a podcast yet again, but the guy who posts it never answers questions. Male vocalist, I'm almost certain this time Full lyric: Who’s always there, When you’re down, On a cold lonely night Who, tell me who, cries for you Who prays for you, When you’re gone, Baby come on home Who, oh, I’ll tell you Oh baby I [swamped by indistinct backing vocals] I’m the one, I’m the one who’ll come for you Who lives for you, Oh baby I, I will die for you See that leaf, Down there on the ground, Well, pretend it’s me Pick me up, don’t let me down, Come on and rescue me You are the rain, In my eyes I can weep without you, Oh but there’ll be no need [?]

Stuck? Can't believe it Have a listen ... Just link to the file in question, I would have tried to ID it but at a 168mb forced download for just one track what is wrong with streaming it ? better than clogging our hard drives up.

Never used a podcast thingy so don't know, (god I sound like an old fart) Leave it with me I will have a play. Had a play it crashed after 45% and I got fed up of hearing The Night every time I restarted it so gave up. If that is podcasting I would rather be fishing - second thoughts no I wouldn't ;D

Downloading podcasts is p*ss easy. Won't pose as an expert here, everyone else usually turns out to know more than me anyway, but download iTunes from apple.com, install it, then either search their podcast directory or look around the web. It's good for finding things a bit off the beaten track without spending actual money. I find a lot of stuff on podomatic.com. The individual pages have a "Subscribe with iTunes button". Once you've subscribed, new episodes come down weekly or just when the people responsible feel like it. You can set iTunes so new episodes overwrite the old ones (e.g. if you subscribe to a news channel), or keep them all indefinitely. If this was too boring feel free to delete it.

No move with the times I say tried again and it crashed at the same place so my download speed is not up to it at the moment.

After a long wait, heard from Paul Royle whose podcast I lifted it from: the last tune is 'i' by Major Lance.it can be found on the b-side of 'aint no soul', but only the promotional copy.
Didn't sound anything like Major Lance singing to me, but there you go. And funnily enough it's mentioned on a thread here: northernsoul.proboards37.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1138137161&page=2#1141759787from member anothernsoul, who I assume is the very same Paul Royle. Small world. Only there he says it's on the b-side of Investigate. Maybe it's both.
