Well numbers were down this month but we still had a cracking night. At Retford we try to bring a little something different each month and Friday was one of thoughts nights. A full female dj line up Shona , Rosie “little miss soul”, Linda and Sister Dawn. In my humble opinion these girls played a blinder each playing an eclectic mix of modern and oldies each deserving of any a list dj out there, I remember at the first Girls on top Dawn telling the soul world to look out the girls are coming, well I think they have arrived and over the next few months we are going to see more quality female dj’s making a name out there. Any way back to the night a big well done to Katie who danced her feet off to win dancer of the month beating our own Gus who stomped rolled and kicked a cracking routine, not quite up to Katie standard keep trying mate and Katie well done you are now one of the white socks dancers. You deserved it. A note form Rosie a big thanks to all who signed the Birthday cards for me and my twin sister Katie I hope you enjoyed the cake. Big birthdays wish for white sock’s Katie and our own soul chick Emma 21 again is it girls. Well that’s about it for now thanks to the white socks regulars and the Worksop chaps for there support and as always thanks to the Masonic Hall for the great venue. The Normal returns to Retford next month with the usual dj line and guest’s midge and Andy “jacko” Jackson.

Just a quick note to say many thanks to Pete and the Girls for inviting me to Djay, have had a couple of pm's on the other site asking me about my playlist, So that will be on its way as soon as I have some time to put it together, I had a blast, shame about the numbers being down, but those that were there enjoyed it and the music and at the end of the day thats what we were there for. Like already said some brilliant tunes spun, a few nice ones from Shona on early doors that I hadn't heard before. Ms Healeys a force and a half to follow with her nothing short of brillance being pulled from her record box, and Our Rosie what can I say about her that hasnt already been said before, just that the future of northern is safe in her hands, and when she is rich and famous on the A list I hope she remembers us in the nursing home!.
