Boston Soul Survivors They survive because of their events at the Haven High School in Boston are as honest as one will find on this diverse and wonderful scene of ours. You’ll not hear a record you’ve never heard before, I could sing most of the words to most of them and that isn’t always a good thing week after week, but here, with these “Survivors” it fits, fits like a comfy pair of slippers. You see, the people at the Boston Soul Survivors events do not take them selves too serious. They visit this event, dance all evening to classic Northern Soul and Motown, have a fantastic time then go home! Job done! No politics, not egos, no big ‘I ams’ just a room packed full of souls dancing their soles off to their kind of soul, it’s simplicity and honesty is so refreshing. Dee-jays were Alex Topley, Martin Topley, Marcus Reid, Dave Appleyard and Andrew ‘Smudge’ Smith. The floor…. Not cleared once, they love to dance in Boston. Look out for the next event (about every three months) because, believe me, opposed to all the pretense of may venues, this place, though not musically challenging is an honest slice of a good time topped off with our Northern Soul, the classic variety.
