I'd looked forward to this night more than any other so far this year and I was not disappointed. In line with everywhere these days numbers were not what they could have been though it was by no means empty. Those that did choose to attend showed their appreciation by keeping the dance floor busy and with Lincolnshire recording the highest temperature of the year so far on the day, the dance floor was HOT. All the DJ's played some great tracks, some that stood out for me were Smile - NEO Live & Learn - Ace Spectrum Hold on to the Blues - Walter Thomas Wear your Natural - Towana & Total Destruction Sweet Hot Lips - Village Choir (Thanks Mr Jay) All Because of You - Leroy Hutson (in full, 7 minutes of wonder, Thanks Mr Robbins) Easy Does It - Willie Hutch You dont have to be a star - Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Junior (Bob the Crate proving you dont have to spend a fortune to fill a dance floor, it was great to see, and be part of the dancefloor reaction to this) Plenty of others and quite a few that I had never heard before, but of which I have made a mental note to check if they are within my meagre budget Thanks to all concerned with ITS for making this happen and I really hope that the SSS guys will make the journey to Lincolnshire again sometime soon. Door Tax £5.00 Litre Bottle of Water £1.30 Not Getting lost on the way home, PRICELESS. Thanks to all who gave me directions

Well what can I say ,thanks to Midge for the lovely comments about this event. On behalf of Rob(my co-promoter) annd myself I would like to thanks Shaun and Bob for making the long and arduous journey up to Spalding . It was also great to have Kev and Janette back with us again ,so the team is once again back to full strength. On the hottest day of the year the temperature was through the roof and the music even more so . So thanks very much to everyone for turning out to support this night, travelling from far and wide and making a fantastic atmosphere right to the end. Without the support of you all ,the paying customer after all said and done,I.T.S. is nothing .so thanks each and every one of you Our next event is the 1st Anniversary 5th Sept , the year has simply flown past!!..........................................

As already posted to Essential Modern and Our Northern Souls. TOP SOUL indeed! A big thanks and well done, as usual to Steve and Kev, and especially for this night, to Solar's guests Shaun and Bob. They had made a really long journey, Bob being from Brighton and Shaun from Woking, taking 6 hours to get there, I'd been looking forward to an opportunity to meet them for some considerable time since I'd first tuned into the Sunday Soul Selection, and had swapped messages with Shaun on the show threads on the Essential Modern Soul board, but then I hadn't made it to the night they came to Peterborough City Club. Their set was well worth the long wait, many great modern and crossover pieces you simply do not normally hear out, already forgotten the titles of everything I liked and didn't know of course. As Midge rightly said quite a surprise when they went out with a bang with "You Don't Have to Be a Star", normally I'd have thought this a bit too well known for venue play, yet it gelled and kept the floor full. It is from the album "I Hope We Get to Love in Time" which I bought about 12 years ago in a charity shop for what must have only been a pound or 2 at most, and a fond reminder of my transitional time between mainstream and rarer soul. I left a very happy soulie. Alan ;D
