Unfortunately, my video player packed up a few weeks back and I've not replaced it.I saw the show last Friday.(I've noticed in this weeks Radio Times that it was/is repeated again, so I'm sure it will come around several times , BBC 4 on digital). It was quite good, but glossed over many artists such as Carla Thomas,Johnnie Taylor,Rufus Thomas .It mainly concentrated on Stax's racial mix,Memphis race & poiltical problems and heavily featured Al Bell's role with the company, and the owners Jim Stewart & Estelle Axton. The split from Atlantic, the problems that arose from that and the slide into oblivion. As usual with these shows, I'd say better than I hoped for , but not as good as it could/should have been.

Keep looking on Sky it was repeated a few days ago.
I have it saved on my Sky+ box and there is a USB outlet but reading up on tech forums it does not seem possible to output it to an external drive of any sort and I do not have any other from of recorder otherwise I would have run a copy off for you.

As a result of this programme, I dug out my Stax 45 box sets. I've got all three: 1959- 1968 1968-1972 1972-1975
Each box has about 9 CDs....the first the 'blue' label, from the Atlantic era. Whilst there are many great records from this box, on the whole I prefer the second 68-72 era ....a mix of styles, with Stax using strings , and some outside influences such as Don Davies. The third box I've had for a few years but not played fully. Of those tracks from this period, I'm not such a fan...but will stick with them
