Right Track, Peterborough Aug 2008 The attendance for this event was very good, not many venues can say that in this day and age, not only very good in numbers but also in enthusiasm for the music and footfalls on the dance floor. Resident dee-jays tony Clayton (Notts Oddfellows, Leicester), Brian Rae (Wheel, Casino, St. Ives etc. etc.) and Andrew ‘Smudge’ Smith (St. Ives, Wirrina etc.) all played to their individual strengths although, on a personal note young Mr. Smith does play some awesome tunes and was brave enough to do a first-play-at-the-‘boro for the bell Brothers, ‘choon!’ Guest Nige Brown brought his eclectic mix of music and bustling personality to the night and complimented the work by the residents to keep 99% of the floor full 99% of the evening, again, not many venues boast that this day and age. Music not too challenging but fitted the ‘floor’ like a well tailored suit. Top night once again at this jewel in the crown of Peterborough soul. Images on ournorthernsouls.org/default.aspx

Young Mr. Smith does play some awesome tunes and was brave enough to do a first-play-at-the-‘boro for the bell Brothers, ‘choon!’ Yes I particularly liked that one too. That's right that normally the music here is "not too challenging", that is part of the venue's appeal and it is doing what it says on the tin, but just throw in an odd one like that here and there and can't go far wrong. Well done on your set too Coops. Always plenty of friendly company here, having been a regular almost from the start, but it was an exceptionally good "party" atmosphere this time. Roll on the next date in October. Alan
