Instrumental (sort of), spoken intro "I'm gonna do a little song for you now, that'll make you clap your hands, kick your feet, and as a matter of fact it'll tear you up"
Anyone recognise it?

The Afro Blues Quintet Plus One= La La La La La. First recorded by Little Stevie Wonder in the early sixties.

I have heard the "Stevie Wonder" track which is an instrumental with him on drums afaik. He is not the singer. This was 1963. Have never heard the Afro Blues Quintet + 1 but I do know it was on Mira and issued in 67 or so. It sounds like it is an instrumental. But the version that I do know and fits the lyrics completely is by a Chicano group from LA called the Blendells. It was released here in the UK in 65 or so on the Reprise label (owned by Frank Sinatra). The label was pink. This was one of the most influential mod/club records of the mid sixties and was well sought after. Pirate radio (one of the best ways at the time to hear sounds that the BBC ignored) championed it in the south east. Written by Clarence Paul.
