Coops----got to agree about the 2 Millie J. ALBUMS,both superb especially ---All over bar the shouting,If loving you etc.,Still caught up and the Barbara Hall killer track-----In the same vein what about anything of The Soul Children L.P.--Friction and the Lamont Dozier L.P. Black Bach, heres a few forgotten heart breakers 1)That,s if yio love me--Donnie Elbert(flip of Where did our love go) London U.K. 1972 2)Dark and lonely---Major Lance(flip of the "live " single "My Girl"--Contempo U.K. 1974) not the Okeh version. If any one doesn,t know these --give them a listen --well worth it(IMHO) Love and stuff to all Tony.C..

Tony C, I've got "Dark and Lonely" on Okeh but never heard the Contempo version. If it is better, it must be special. I'll hunt it out. Al "Cool Breeze" Daly.

Nice to see this thread revived. You can never surpass the emotion delivered by some of these sounds. I noted ages ago that Tony C. mentioned 'Let's Straighten It Out' and for me it's not only heart wrenching but one of my favourite recordings. Benny Latimore is one of the real nice guys as well. I'm not really sure how much better it gets, but try these for size. 'The Love We Had' The Dells 'This Love' Shirley Brown. 'You Ought To Be With Me' Carl Weathers 'I'm Not Strong Enough' Sandra Wright Just the tip of the iceberg.
