Well me and the girls decided to give this one a try and duly set off seeing as it was only up the dreaded A15 (call it dreaded because all of our work training is done in sleaford) We arrived at the rugby club, a few cars already in the car park, we made our way upstairs, Paid a £6.00 entry fee (its a fiver for non members) and I assume that means membership to the dedicated soul club. Beer not too bad a price in todays society £2.20, we grabbed a table behind the decks and settled in for the night.
Djays for the night on the flyer were advertised as
KEITH WILLCOX - MELLERS - DAVE REED (P'BOUR MUSKETEERS)
KEV SUCH - CREAM CRACKERS
PLUS SPECIAL GUESTS:
CHRIS DALTON, BACK IN THE DAY CLEETHORPES, ENOUGH SAID
CARL PIPER - DANCE YOUR FEET OFF
I don't know why Carl didn't come I may have missed that announcement but the other lads did a brilliant job of keeping the floor moving, and it was great to hear classic oldies allnight, I couldnt fault any of the djays and was pleased there wasnt any repeats of sounds which sometimes occurs on a nite. Top tune of the night for me has to be the Majestics and I love her so much (it hurts me) which is enjoying big dance floor reaction again, and so it should, its a great classic.
Venue wise lots of parking space, nice big room upstairs split into 2 sections by a small wooden partition allowing you to sit and watch the dance floor or just chill and chat. Talc useage is allowed which is easier on the old bones.
Nice to see Rob Smith and Dave Raistrick there with some boxes of the lovely vinyl for sale and Keith with his badges.
Plenty of faces from Lincoln, Cleethorpes, Skeg, Boston, Peterborough and other areas.
So DSC top nite there at Sleaford, would we come again??? too right we would.
