:)I was at a bit of a loose end on Saturday, the missus is away and the mates wife is poorly so the choice was mopping about the house or checking out what was available and success Rawmarsh is only 10 miles away so I thought I'd pay it a visit and WOW what a night, I have no idea how many the place holds but it was packed and the organisers appear to have hit a right note because although there were obviously plenty of knowledgeable souls around there were many many people who clearly were not soul venue regulars but still enjoyed themselves and a few youngsters to boot.
In fact at times I was struggling to hear the music over the chattering. However do not let this distract from your pleasure this is a great venue and the music was just what I needed to cheer me up. No idea, sorry to say who the DJ's were although I have seen them at the Corner Pocket and I assume the organisers of these two venues are similar.
The only negative was sitting on my own and of course as I was driving not being able to drink can be a bit SAD as witnessed by the group at the table near were I stood who obviously thought I was a 'billy no mates' and weren't sure what to do with me ;D ;D ;D
A good mix of sounds tending to the oldies (didn't arrive till 9:30 so if that's wrong I apologise), they played Eddie Fosters 'I never knew' and I realised I haven't heard that for yonks so the first thing I did when I got into the car was search for it on the ipod another record that sticks out was 'Hip Teens' frank Popp Ensemble which again packed the floor.
Well worth a visit, nice size place, full dance floor all night and enthusiastic crowd just don't go on your own give me a ring and I'll come with you ;D and we can hold each others hand.
