Hello all, have a friend who has a massive collection of vinyl and has asked me how it is possible to transform it to c.d. format? I don't have a clue? Any ideas?

You can buy Comercialy available software and cable kits, for under 30 quid, but you must make sure your vinal is squeeky clean and also your pickup, as any background noise hisses scratches whatever will transfer as well

hi, try and get hold of MAGIX AUDIO CLEANING LAB this will walk you through transferring vinyl to cd and will get rid of any surface noise. you will need a record deck that has an amplifier or a pre-amp such as a BUSH MTT1 ( about £50 from comet etc. ) hope this helps.

A piece of software which allows you to RIP vinyl to a PC and then convert the save files to MP3 is RIPVINYL available at www.ripvinyl.com/ this is only £6 or so If you have any CD writing software eg Nero then it is simply a matter of selecting the saved MP3 files in the Nero S/W and burning the CD Any turntable or hi-fi with an output can be connected to your computers sound card via the line IN socket on the sound card It is NOT that complicated for more info email me at: marlboro111@blueyonder.co.uk if you are unsure.

re transferring of vinyl/tapes to cd. i can download off the net on to hard drive and copy to cd no probs. i can copy cd to hard drive, then comp my own cd's no probs. but when i try to copy records/tapes to computer it does the first 30 seconds or so and then it cuts to 1/2 speed,WHY?? i have majix audio studio thingy and i think it's an rca connector, that goes into my sound card at the back. this is the third majix item i have bought all with the same problem. can anyone please help, i have about 300 tapes to convert and it's driving me nuts! thanks.

It is more likely the software you are using, is it a limited or trial copy ?? I use Sound Forge and never had a problem but it is expensive software or was at the time.
