The rarest and most expensive soul record in history, the 45rpm vinyl edition of Frank Wilson's Do I Love You (Indeed I Do), has been offered for sale by Kenny Burrell, a DJ who hails from Cowdenbeath. See below for the story in the Sunday Times. www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/article5732973.ece It states that it could go for as much as & £75,000 Of the three copies of the record that are known to exist, a warped copy is in the possession of a record dealer in the north of England. (Anyone know who this is?) Gordy owns another, which he rescued from Motown’s quality control department and which is now kept for posterity in a temperature-controlled room in Hollywood. The third is this one in Scotland, where it has been for more than a decade since it was bought by Burrell for a staggering £15,000 — a purchase funded by a family windfall. Guess we wont be seeing it on Ebay

:)An amazing state of affairs Good luck to the bidders but sadly I will be conspicuous by my absence, do you think Tim Brown will do a swap Doug as its warped. i can offer him a mint copy of Little Anthony on Veep or a Little Carl Carlton, sound him out the next time you see him ;D An interesting (though well known story) but unlike the works of art mentioned if you ask Kenny Burrell to play it he will and if you really really ask he will even let you handle it (as he let me do at samantha's last night), Wonder what would happen if you picked up Titian’s 16th-century masterpiece Diana and Actaeon to look at its dead wax ;D
