There is going to be heaps of these, although 'played on the soul scene' might restrict it a bit. Here's one, 'Baby I Need Your Loving' - we really only needed ONE version. The Four Tops is the standard by which we measure all others and in all honesty they're ALL blown out of the water. This is especially true in the case of Gayle Adams but to get a broader perspective why not try Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston, The Four Seasons, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Johnny Rivers, Gene Pitney, Double Exposure, Tom Clay, Andee Silver, The Fourmost or Choker Campbell. Probably loads more versions I've forgotten or never heard of, but I would only ever choose to hear Levi's interpretation of this H-D-H monster. 522 Tracks Of My Tears The Miracles. Funny how hardly anyone bought it in '65 and it sold by the bucket load in '69!!! One of Smokey's true masterpieces.
