Got to be Samanthas for me as it was my first venue and I always loved it, all the other venues just didn't seem as personal. I am a Fireman at Central Station in Sheffield and just before Christmas we received a call to the building which is still there (Bingo & Casino) Samanthas is still there!!! deserted and in a sorry state. Standing on the dancefloor at 3.00am on my own, it brought a great lump to the throat as the memories flooded back, even had a bit of a shuffle. The manager of the Bingo must have thought I was mad!!!

Visited many of the afore mentioned venues but for me, at the moment, 'Kings Hall' Stoke has to be the best! Its like going back to Wigan!

Yes I slipped up with a few and apologise, done in a hurry as usual and now I can't change it but that was the maximum number allowed.

has to be the Casino for me first went At 14 paid the bouncers on the back door a couple of Quid, along with quite a few others, to let us in, and after that was hookedafter my first nighter never missed a 1 that I can remember, including oldies nighters, the thrill never left me till the last few nighters when it was dead on its feet. The atmosphere and the people made it realy special. helped by the fact there were about 10 of us all used to go regularly from a little place called haydock 12 miles down the road. memories of sitting outside at 5 am in a tshirt sweating like a loon and snow falling on me, trying to cool down. staggering out at 8.30 after a long que for my bag blinded by the sun and heading down to the baths to freshen up, still linger with me, also the time I had to walk home after getting kicked of the bus for being sick , having just paid my last bit of coin for a ticket, and then seeing the bus complete with mates shooting of down the road.

Not good - I didnt make it to the classics - so cant vote!! Guess I could go for Cleethorpes, as of now, but thats not what this poll is about is it? How about a poll for venues at the mo???

Wigan for me the music the atmosphere, the sweat, the lot! Saying that I did frequent a little known venue called the Lemon Tree in Blackpool which was an excellent place, it is now a block of flats!! It was a very small venue down the stairs in the cellar bar. Ahh the good old days!!

I had to vote for the Casino and as far as nighters went, I had to. However my favorite venues would be 1. Leeds Central (Most Saturday nights before Wigan) 2. Vikings @ Goole (My First dayer in 1973) 3. Windmill @ Rotherham (I jocked there with Bill Payne, Malc Burton, Sean Hampsey and the ilustrious Mr Smith from Notts) What a good crowd of people went to that club *Sighs* Where does the time go ?

Samanthas, Cleethorpes tough choice but Samanthas just edged it for me plus it was in my home town & Wigan was just o/k for me.
