Wigan was good & really got northern "jump started" but for me it has to be Cleethorpes, the Pier more than the Winter Gardens.

Having not quite been old enough to get to the casino, I think my favourite venue was Warrington Parr hall. Great atmosphere for the brief time it was around 85 - 86.

Didn't go to the all - dayers at the Parr hall, just the niters they used to run every other saturday, under the three voices soul club, before that was the after dark soul club. Top of the world (stafford) and Morcambe pier(soul promotions)were two other great venues of the time. How fast time flies!

ST IVES was my top of the list it had fantastic music great people nice layout Ken Cox did us proud with live bands and solo singers ( Gloria Jones ) and located in the right area, WIGAN was also great + PIER + WINTER GARDENS added to my list was COALVILLE LOUGHBOROUGH and a rare night at NORICH 1 night at YATE good venue but like WIGAN a long way.

Edgey Got to agree with you Cleethorpes by far followed by Blackpool. It goes without saying the Casino played and broke some classics but what a sh--hole.

Trust me mgtf you would not park anything there if you wanted it back, and on the road in question (station) there is now a new arcade a mini arndale and in it there is a cafe called The Casino Cafe, not been well enough to visit yet but Girldancer has.
