When do you think was the best era ? not just for the music, take into account the friendliness of the scene and having a good time in general.

See - this is the thing. Every third form at school ( I think it's called year 10 now ) thinks they were the ones that discovered the place where they could smoke and the teachers just didn't know about it. Which - of course - they did. But the early mid60s - that was my "third form" and we DID discover it. By it, I mean, them.
Not clever and not funny, as the Desk Sergeant said - but good all the same ( I think ).
Somone might be able to help me here. If you have read what Dave Godin wrote in Blues & Soul you might have seen that he mentioned on more than one occasion that he was against amphetamines. Yet I am sure that he wrote a review of a record ( I can't remember which ) where he said "it went down like a "green and clear". A capsule like a bomber or a black&white that was ...guess. Green one side and clear the other.

For me? NOW!! I was too young for the 70s scene, and still too young for most of the 80s (over protective Father lol). The 90s were good as things started to appear again but now? Regular do's, good varied tracks. Simple. Guess its all personal taste, and memories.

I read in another thread that you went to Market Harborough. You must've gone to the NiteOwl all-nighters in Leicester - surely ?

it's now for me, loved the 70s, but was too into my own teenage angst and ego, today, well today it's me and my soul, okay the body won't get up again from a backdrop, lungs only 70% capacity but my love for the music is a mature love, a bottle of chateaux lesgarde compared to the boujolais neuveu of the 1970s, or a warres 1976 vintage port compared to an alchopop! nothing to prove no more, just me, the floor and the groove
