Sat 20th went for a pre Xmas jaunt to Rawmarsh Cricket club. Good turnout with both ends of age chart in attendance from old farts like ME to a couple of teens. An abundance of Santa hats (with a good dose of alcofrolics) ensured a gr8 atmosphere. Good to see many local promoters there too - Soul Galore, Victory Club, Corner Pocket and KGB and also good to see folk purchasing tickets for my big bash on 27th. ;D Dancefloor full for majority of night with an ex Dinnington lad leading the way with splits backdrops and handstands - show off - well done Keith Driver (young pup lol) ;D Music was across all decades and genres like it should be but as usual the old 6Ts sounds had the biggest response - nowt new there then. All in all a pretty good night, cheers Andy

Sat 10th went to KGB Sheffield with mein hosts Barry & Ann Holland. Its a basement venue with bar in same room as dancefloor but the artists paintwork on one wall gives it a real retro feel of many mid 6Ts clubs, ah well memory fades.......... Attendance pretty good but many came in late, after 11 but then again it is in a student area of the city but hey overheads need paying! Room is narrow & dark with low ceiling so its warm and sweaty( give up son) All 4 DJs played good cross section sets and dancefloor quite full most of night - pity the male handbaggers had to be moved away off dancefloor by DJs announcements but as I said previously........... All in all a good night and my highlights? probably Jnr Walker "Boomerang" Lou Pride "Morning" & Fi-dells "Try Harder" but then again I'm not one who's after being re-educated in this soul stuff ;D KGB 2nd Sat every month and owni 2 squid otd

Good job me & Keith Davis ventured out - it boosted the numbers Victory Club @ Darnall Sheffield is a monthly, very small & friendly venue with nice promoters and no fuss. What a pity the numbers were way down on previous form - including many of their regular crowd - hope the trend doesn't continue Those that were there had a good time and kept the dancefloor busy with all DJs playing good & varied sets. Apologies I didn't catch the name of the DJ hadn't seen b4(possibly Chris Brooks not sure). This small club IS worth a visit, please support

Friday at Hatfield Arms - went to support some local soul boys and had a decent night. Couldn't do it regular tho - upstairs pub room with tiny tiny dancefloor and damn bar downstairs!! ;D Made a change tho. Sat 11th was my own night - numbers drastically low after 2 gr8 nights earlier in year - dancefloor had numbers on it all night which was pleasing and there was a good atmosphere as a good cross section of soul played out. It was Keith Davis' comeback post heart op and he ably supported by Keith Toyne, Andy Jones and Newark's Doug Hall Just a shame weren't enough folk there.
