Back in the 6ts when I was "active" I absolutely detested "Nobody but me". And nearly 40 years on nothing has changed. Just listing a number of dances in a lyric doesn't mean its of the same genre. This was another example of a rarity (at the time) that was given deck-time that it didn't warrant.

I agree with you Human Beinz drives me nuts, I brought about 50 copies back in 79' and passed over another 500 I reckon so rarity it never was, 20 cents a time too.

My recollections are all to do with the sixties. I think this was the mechanism that operated with the Human Beinz then and since. 1967 - issued on Capitol UK 1967 - deleted 'cos nobody bought it. 1968 - DJs of the time started playing it cos it said "Boogaloo" etc. - scouring of shops that had misadvertently ordered it in, uncovered what was available. - importing was not "normal" at that time. - "forced" popularity of a "rarity". 1969 to date imports, re-issues etc.
But, and most importantly 1967 - 9999 (and even beyond) - CRAP. But, 'Im sure your $10 made you a quite a bit of money.
So the Human Beinz prove an old saying- "where there's muck - there's money".

But, 'Im sure your $10 made you a quite a bit of money.
So the Human Beinz prove an old saying- "where there's muck - there's money" I think I shifted quite a few Human Beinz but only at around £1.50 each and it was hard work getting rid of them even then, a good mark up still but had loads left when I sold a bulk box full they were amongst them so got about 20p each for the remainder.
If it was about making money in those days I could have done overtime at work, any the profit paid for more records and travel to nights, not like todays big earners, imagine finding sounds now and selling for £100's, the air fare is still the same as I paid almost 30 years ago just food and digs that will be more.
The dealers over there are much wiser and I am sure it is harder to unearth tracks but so many are now on ebay it makes you wonder why they are fetching so much. Some RARE tracks being sold by dozens of US dealers are on there almost every week.
SEE BELOW the top 5 on ebay now, Steinways $624 what is that all about ? no wonder no bids. Could not give that away at one time and it was in my box for months at a fiver. Good double sider but there are as many of them about as Human Beinz. ;D
Oh and sellers PLEASE stop calling them KILLER tracks, you sound like silly T***S.

Mines would have to be 1st round knockout... Joe Frazier... ex world heavyweight boxing champion and crap singer. They actually used to play it quite a lot at a certain Dundee room.

:)Don't let anyone kid you they played Joe Frazier everywhere and loads of people danced to it.
There were always plenty tunes that at the time they were popular I didn't like but as have got older and more mellow I accept they were part of the experience and many I actually can now listen to my feet start tapping and subconsciously I sing along to ie Samantha Jones
But I have to agree with Bleusuperb this is total Shite always was and still is !!!!!!

I see this is getting big plays again in various places..... do we know why? On the old white knockout label if memory serves me well without dragging me boxes out

My worst song? Has to be the "alleged" Northern track - "8-3-1" - Lisa Stansfield!! What was that all about?? Pure twaddle!! As for the likes of The Snake & Skiing In The Snow - they were songs that got me hooked, so I cant moan about them!

worst record ever? got to be skiing in the snow makes me shudder every time I hear it! Davie :-[ You're joking! It has a great intro, at least. The worst ever is that 'No-one knows what's going on in my mind but me,' by Some Tart, closely followed by 'That's not love,' by Some Other Tart.
